What you should do: Tell your employer if your job ad makes you look good.
For instance, if your ad says you have an “excellent customer service” and you are the only person on the job.
If your job requires that you meet deadlines, do you have to report to work every day or do you do it at a reduced time?
Are there other requirements?
What if you want to work from home?
If you’re already employed and want to be a part of the recruiting process, your employer may need to make a few changes.
For example, if you’re a new hire, they may need you to complete a few job descriptions and interview questions before you’re allowed to apply for a job.
And they may also need you complete a form that shows you have the right experience and skills for the job, and how they’re hiring.
How to get help with your job search.
If you’ve been rejected from your previous job and your employer has been trying to rehire you, your chances of getting a new job may be much better if you contact the National Employment Law Project.
The nonprofit law firm represents job seekers, employers and the public in helping them find employment.
If a job search is too difficult for you to manage, the National Job Search Alliance offers resources to help.
