A year after Wimbledon was banned from broadcasting the tournament for nearly a decade, the Grand Slam is set to return to the Grandstands of Wimbledon Park in central London for the first time since the tournament began in the early 1980s.

In the past few months, it has hosted the Grand and the Uefa Champions League, the Euro 2024 qualifiers, and the Olympic Games.
“Wimbledon is the perfect venue for us,” said Mark Brooks, CEO of the British Tennis Association (BT), which represents some of the country’s best players.
“We will have the best athletes and fans, with a full stadium and full coverage of the event.”
The grand slam will be held at the former Wimbledon venue on Saturday, December 18, with the first round taking place on Friday the 19th, with next month’s first round kicking off on the 20th.
The Wimbledon Open will be the first of a number of grand slams in the US to return, after the first two events were cancelled due to safety concerns.
It is understood that it is unlikely that any of the three other major events to be held in London this year will be affected.
“I think this is the best decision Wimbledon has made to date, to bring it back to London,” said British tennis star Serena Williams.
“It’s not just a big tournament for the UK, it’s also a huge event for the world.”
Williams is currently ranked 15th in the world, ahead of Novak Djokovic, who is currently tied with Novak in the points rankings.
The pair are currently tied in the men’s rankings, with eight days left to play.
Williams said she was excited to return home for the event.
“The crowd is amazing.
The atmosphere is great.
It’s a great event,” she said.”
You feel like you’re at the Olympics.
It makes you want to do your best, and I think I’m up to it.”
The UK was one of three countries to host the event in 2020, but the Grand has had little success in recent years.
The US, meanwhile, has a long history of hosting the event, including in 1996, 1998 and 2010.
In 2020, the US was also the first country to host it, as well as the first to do so after the death of the late tennis great Stan Wawrinka in 2000.
It was held at Wimbextown, a venue previously used for the US Open.
In 2021, it was reported that the Grand would be held for the fourth time in the UK as the country began its second attempt at hosting the world’s most popular event.
It has since been confirmed that the event will be played in the old Wembley Stadium, although the venue is likely to be the same as that used in 2020.
The event will return to Wembley Stadium as well, with new venues announced for the 2018-19 season.
In 2019, it will be staged in Cardiff, Wales, with more venues to be announced.
Wimbextorons Grand Slam, which is being developed by the BBC and ITV, is one of the worlds biggest sporting events.
It draws more than two million fans and attracts around 5 million people to the venues across the UK.
